A quiet place in paradise

When traveling to Indonesia the Gili islands are highly recommended for a visit. Especially Gili Meno is way less touristic than Gili Trawangan and Gili Air. So, if you are looking for a more quiet place with romantic beach vibes, Gili Meno, also called the Honeymoon Island, might be just the right choice for you. Depending from where you start you can either take a fast boat from the harbor Padang Bai on Bali or also from Bangsal on Lombok. You can choose between different companies that offer boat transfers but you will probably always be charged up to 500.000 IDR (30€) everywhere.

Finding the right accommodation

On Gili Meno you will find all types of accommodations. But since you are on an island you definitely don’t want to miss out those cute little bungalows right at the beach. Prices here are also pretty reasonable. One bungalow for two persons will cost you up to 600.000 IDR a night. Of course, you can find more luxury ones, that might be more expensive.

Depending on what type of person you are (spontaneously or well organized) there are two options for finding the right accommodation. Using platforms like booking.com or tripadvisor.com you will easily find out about nice places to stay. Although there are many options for accommodations given – not every room or bungalow shows up in those apps. Sometimes there might be a room free, even though it says ‘fully booked’. Therefore, it is good to just walk around the island and ask for a place to stay. This makes it also easier for you to find your favorite spot on the island.

Activities on the island

Except from long and chilled beach days you have many more opportunities how to spend your time on the island. If you are interested in exploring the island by horse go and find Zaen from King Stable Horse Riding. He takes really good care of all his horses and will make it an unforgettable experience for you.

Since the water around Gili Meno is crystal blue and has just the perfect temperature to take a dip into the water, you should hire a boat guide that takes you on a snorkeling trip. You can swim with sea turtles, coral fishes and if you are lucky you may also be able to see a manta.

Please note, that the only transportation options are horse carriages, bikes or go on foot!
