Mama’s Place is an inspiring art shelter, workshop space and soup kitchen for the kids of the township Motherwell. 30-60 children come here every day to spend their free time playing with each other, participating in different activities and to get some food. Everyone is welcome at this exceptional place. Visitors or volunteers are welcome to support us and facilitate in our workshops.

Mamas place is run by Nwabisa, called the Mama by everyone, because she dedicated her life to helping the children in her community situated in the township Motherwell.
Almost every day she makes a soup kitchen for the kids and organizes art projects and other activities for them. She started it out of nothing and shares everything, even though she and her family don’t have much and are living in a shack.

COVID19 – Emama Nutrition makes food parcels for kids

With the COVID19 outbreak causing schools and NPOs to close in South Africa, we are faced with even more hungry and undernourished children at our Soup kitchens doorstep. In order to help children and parents in need, we organize food packages for them.

Important information if you visit: please don’t hand out any money or sweets directly to the kids. If you want to support mama’s place arrange the support with Mama Nwabisa.
